Browser Information
Browsers have certain differences, which may affect your use of Numipulator. Below, we summarize issues for various browsers on a Windows laptop, an Android device, a MacBook Air and an iPad mini. Note: You may need to enable certain behaviours with some browsers, when prompted, such as use of Javascript or use of local storage, but this is unlikely. Windows laptop The following browsers appear to work well, both when opening Numipulator online and when opening a locally-saved version:
Internet Explorer works well online, but does not provide local storage when used locally. It does, however, open a pop-up window when exiting, allowing you to save your current Numiplet manually to a text file. MacBook Air The following browsers appear to work well, both when opening Numipulator online and when opening a locally-saved version:
Other browsers have not been tested on a Mac. Android devices The following browsers appear to work well, both when opening Numipulator online and when opening a locally-saved version:
Faint gridlines were visible on the Graphics Formatter, but these would not be troublesome. iPad mini (iOS 12.5.1) The following browsers appear to work well when opening Numipulator online, but they do not appear to allow downloading of files in order that you can run Numipulator locally:
Faint gridlines were visible on the Graphics Formatter, but these would not be troublesome. We understand that with iPadOS, Safari does now allow downloading of files, but this has not been tested by us. We could, however, send numipulator.htm (the download file) from a laptop as an email attachment, save it from there onto the iPad, and open it. This worked well, but did not autosave upon exiting. Pressing the Save button before exiting does work, and the saved numiplet is automatically reloaded when opening it again. This ability to run a locally-saved version suggests that with iPadOS, you would be able to save and use it locally.
